How long do you keep your pool pump on?
On average, we recommend running your pool pump for 10-12 hours per day when operating in the Florida climate. Running your pump for 10-12 hours per day will help provide sufficient water circulation (one full turnover) throughout the pool to ensure the water is filtered and pool chemicals are properly circulated.
If you are looking to save money on your electricity bill, you may want to look into installing a variable speed pump. In addition, you may be able to reduce the run time of your pump by an hour or two in the winter months when the weather is cooler. You should consult your pool service professional to learn more on both options.
